That time South Park almost started a war...

I feel the need to remind everyone that the people making these threats were an extremist group and not representative of their religion as a whole. Please don’t use this scenario to justify hate towards any group. Just be cool. Thanks.

When they did the Scientology episode, Scientology harassed them for years. They went so far as to look through the trash of the two writers Trey and Matt, and were even considering joining a catering crew at the studio so they could steal information. Scientology’s goal was to blackmail the two writers, it failed miserably.

Imagine going to a foreign country and demanding they respect your culture under the threat of violence.
(Edit: you can stop replying, this is so old now.)

Thanks for warning us of the dangers of piracy, I definitely WONT visit South Park uncensored for a 3 hour binge session with a bowl of Cheetos. It’s not anywhere on my agenda

"I'm not training my dog to attack children. I just pet them and give them treats every single time they do."
Morally bulletproof.

Bro the FBI informant "unexpectedly died" and no one batted an eye at that?

The irony is that Comedy Central's attempt to avoid controversy created a controversy: by censorin' the two-parter, they proved that terrorist threats work.

The funniest and saddest part is that rule about the Muslim faith is about being a Muslim and trying to recreate Mohammed. They’ve killed dozens for misunderstood rule, and a minor misunderstanding.

The funny thing is the censorship only emphasised south park's point and made the episode funnier, especially with Kyle's speech 😂

Trying to justify and protect the freedom of speech of a terrorist while censoring an actual citizen making a joke is a prime example of the sad state our world is in.

I have to give whoever did the censoring of the final speech credit for editing it in such a way that made sure it still landed as a meta joke. Like they could have just cut it early or cut it up until the very end, but they still left in Stans little "yeah..." to really hammer home the irony of it all. Well played editor, well played.
