I think the problem with titty armor is that having armor molded into the shape of boobs is unnecessary & actually pretty dangerous. Even ppl with large chests would want something flat/slightly curved so that the force of impact is distributed equally, otherwise you’d just end up with a broken sternum.

10 years man<br>10 years…<br>I remember that almost directly before Gamergate there was a conversation going on about if video games could be art<br>And then it got completely derailed by all this gamergate stuff because people decided to apply the most basic feminist theory 101 critique of video games. <br>You know like how people do with like every single other artistic medium ever

It’s important to note that for a while, there were a lot of flash games that were just about punching celebs and stuff, but from what I’ve seen they were usually much less graphic and more goofy. A lot of them are cartoony and illustrated, and the ones that use real pics stray pretty far from realistic violence (i saw one person’s head just morph into a skull??). I think that’s probably why people defended it as silly. They probably didn’t play it and assumed it was in the same ballpark as those. It’s fair to still oppose these games, esp when the content is triggering for you, just think the context is worth noting!

Not to comment again. I'm AFAB, and I vividly remember almost being radicalized by GamerGate back then. I came from an fundamentalist Christian and abusive family with no support system, had tons of internalized misogyny and queerphobia, and I wanted to fit in and find community so badly because I was bullied relentlessly in school. I remember the conversations of feminism in pop culture back then being centered towards the perspectives of cis, straight, white women only, and I felt isolated from the movement because I felt that they didn't reflect my own experiences. This might have sounded dramatic (and it is because I was a child), but Anita saying that some of my favorite video games were sexist and I was a bad person for playing them reminded me of my bullies at school. <br>I'm a completely different person now, but it's a little terrifying seeing just how close to the alt-right I was just because I was an angry, confused child disillusioned by society. I'm sorry for even entertaining the misogynist beliefs that the movement sold me.
