Love Foster Brooks! Best drunk impression in history. His pilot skit with Dean Martin is a must see.

No, they're very well acquainted.  The minute Foster Brooks goes onstage for a roast, he's "in character"!

The Dean Martin roasts were a must see every time they were on back then, nobody got all butt hurt from the friendly mock insults and it was just hilarious how Foster could just kill all these stars laughing and trying to regain their composure.  Something to see is the first time Brooks appeared on Johnny Carson as just an actor under another name and Johnny didnt actually know it because the director was pranking Johnny - johnny bought the whole act and actually got mad that someone would come on his show like this - anyway when they finally went to commercial and came back Johnny made some kind of apology for this drunk beving so badly on his show, then he introduced the next guest and damned if it wasnt Foster Brooks again under his real name and when Johnny saw him come back out he started to get mad again then found out it was ll an act and he was blown away, then he made the comment that Fosters act was so believable he hadnt even noticed Foster had no smell of liquor on his breath - they got Johnny good and it was HILARIOUS.

Lost art is being funny without vulgar language.  Foster Brooks was the greatest.  This and his roast of Lucille Ball were the best in my opinion.
