  I will never understand why people agree to MENTOR juniors. It&apos;s the company&apos;s job to train them. If OP is expected to train them after the regular working hours, &quot;whats in it for me?&quot;<br><br>A senior man mentored a junior girl one on one. She filed a complaint for SA. He lost his job. They even admouthed him if asked for refs! &nbsp;Someone in IT sent him a video file. It showed him talking to her, no SA. He went with his lawyer and demanded justice. They paid him a large sum as comp + legal fees. He declined to go back

  On a company management meeting I was insulted so I took our company keys and put them on the table and was ready to walk out. Just at that moment the owner said we increase your salary by 20% . Three years later the owner died &nbsp;and I was made redundant. &nbsp;Right after I left the company lost all major brand name accounts to competitors. Selling generic products does marginalize &nbsp;profits. I was laughing so hard from over 8000 miles away .

  Sorry but I have been in a situation a bit like this. I laughed and left. I didn&apos;t stay to hand over a thing. Got a job with their direct competitor two days later. Your company can fire you &apos;at will&apos;... that means when you quit you owe them nothing and you leave &apos;at will&apos; as well. All employment contracts that demand you work a period after or give notice are non-binding within the US.<br><br>Non-competes are literally illegal and unenforcable in the US as well. They are laughable if a part of any employment deal.

  I liked the story, but I wish we got more details about exactly why the trainee received such a huge payout. That part could’ve made the conflict feel even more realistic.

I busted my a** for the company. I was making less than most. Karen got $3,800. I had trained Luke. I started packing. I walked into Richards office. I resigned right there.
