  I think one of my favorites bits about these videos is how John relates the plots to other media, be it The Twilight Zone or a Shyamalan film or a short story. It&apos;s easy to write off Goosebumps as &quot;just kids books&quot;, but it&apos;s cool seeing how so many story archs get reused and reimagined throughout history.

  I always found Ghost Next Door to be pretty similar to The Others. In that movie, the main characters think they have ghosts in their house, but the &quot;ghosts&quot; are actually alive and the main characters are the ones who are dead.<br><br>Sixth Sense is an apt comparison too but it doesn&apos;t really have that switcheroo element.

  I really like how the graphic novel of The Haunted Mask emphasizes how Chuck and Steve&apos;s bullying is really getting to Carly Beth. There&apos;s a scene where she gets scared at launch and everyone laughs at her, and she ditches school and runs home in tears. She also doesnt even want to go out trick or treating anymore because she&apos;s afraid people will scare her and laugh at her. <br><br>And in the worm scene, after realizing what she ate, she gets sick and throws up and just starts ugly bawling. <br><br>The graphic novel is really good and I&apos;m glad I bought it because of this video.

  The Ghost Next Door is the only &nbsp;Goosebumps book that ever made me sad. &nbsp;I won’t say I cried, but I came very close.
