Animorphs (not so) fun fact: in one of the books, they literally turn an ant into a human The first thing it does is just scream It is BONKERS

Just a bit of clarification, Ax did not give the Animorphs their powers.  That was his brother, Elfangor. And the reason he gave them their powers in the first place was to give them a fighting chance against the Yeerks, the alien slugs.  One of the key things is that they can’t tell anyone about their abilities because you never know who’s a Yeerk and who isn’t, since they can perfectly mimic their hosts due to having access to their memories via the brain

I met the author of animorphs back in may, and she explained that she had literally no creative control over merchandising. That tri Rex looks cool though.

The Animorphs toys were also notoriously super fragile. The aliens were alright but the humans would break if you looked at them wrong

As weird as these are, I'm kinda surprised there was no mention of Nike Optimus & Megatron nor Super Nintendo Optimus & Sega Genesis Megatron.

I'm thinking the T-Rex Combiner was something Hasbro had intended for Beast Wars and retooled for the Animorphs line. In fact, most of the Animorph figures seem like they could be retooled versions of unrelased Beast Wars figures.

Animorphs,  yeah is full of warcrimes & body horror.   More than few people are just mentally scarred for life by the end. Injuries that should prove fatal are survived through thanks to the morphing powers e.g. disembowelment.  & You get to remember it every time you nearly die.  Ya know for kids.   Goosebumps ironically was the lighter of the 2 franchises.
