The Mavs knew they wanted revenge for losing 5 years before, and Dirk Nowitzki gave us one of the greatest playoff runs in NBA playoff history

It wasnt just Dirk, Terry and Kidd who were the guys who didnt win a championship, it was literally the whole roster. Peja came up short in Sacramento, Marion came up short in Phoenix,  Chandler came up short in Charlotte, Caron Butler was legitimately the second best player on the team when he got hurt and was out for the year. There was a LOT of hunger on this team before their careers were slammed shut. What a group of guys.

I'm almost 50 years old and this title remains one of the best stories in sports. Was so happy for Dirk back then.

The 2011 Mavs swept Kobe and the Lakers, spoofed out Kevin Durant and the Thunder, and outclassed Lebron and the Miami Heat. Deserved to win the title!

Watching this in 2025 is so bittersweet. I remember seeing this live, watching a Dallas team be crowned champions for the first time in my life; it brought so much pride and joy. About a decade later, our spark was reignited with Luka, a superstar reminiscent of this team's spirit, only to be extinguished on some random night... man Nico sucks.
