A great lesson about a great novel. I really loved the calm, steady tone in the professor voice. Kind of reminded me of James Stewart.

Hi, I am curious at some parts of the novel. If all the wealth was transferred to the man upon marriage, then how would Osmond become rich if Pansy married Warburton? Since none of Warburton's wealth would transfer to Pansy anyway. Is it something to do with the dowry? And when would that transfer of money take place? I am not understanding the dowry portion.

Several times he refers to "this is a reason I wrote the book." Is the book he refers to "Henry James and Modern Moral Life" or is there another one specifically on Portrait?
