  Two years ago the wife and I lived in CDL Often on weekends, we'd drive out to kellog and like a long the river. The Superfund folks once dig up the entire river, scrubbed it and returned it. They obviously did a great job because there were WestSliow Cutthroat trout in it. One day an entire pack of River Otters came around the bend. The biggest climbed out of the water and made a bluff at our Jack Russel "Sonic". He wanted nothing to do with that mustalid! This was the first otters I ever seen. The big one had jaw muscles like a big pit bull! These species as well as others are called "indicator species". They indicate a more or less pristene environment.  Now that is our tax dollars well spent!

  The rivers and waterways are the most heavy metal polluted waterways in the US. It's illegal to disturb the lake bed in CDA. They still recommend only eating a few fish a year from any of the connected waterways.

  There is plenty of silver with lesser grades but more profitable such as Rock Creek, or in the past Spar Lake to the North. Deeper is not better. Rocks are brittle and produce rock blast when new ground is opened up. A Deadly situation for miners. Most of the wealth did not go to the miners &nbsp;who live here but instead to wealthy corporations who had no empathy for the miner or the environment. That has changed. Remember that the Sunshine, Crescent, and Galena started in <br>Wallace Rocks- not Revett. Upper parts of the orebodies have been forgotten about. A few companies control the land and have done little surface exploration. You can go deeper but you need bigger shafts &nbsp;that come to the surface so you can increase production. Still leaving a lot of silver behind because it is not profitable. &nbsp;Look ye to the Rock- Wallace Formation. Along the Big Creek Anticline.
