To order a child who developed inside womb of women who was sad ,depressed , unhappy during pregnancy ? This child will be marked by stress hormones of biological mother .There will be deep sense of loss and pain inside that child .

Putting the woman in jail for carrying the child is wrong thats blaming the victim in these cases.

It's disheartening to see what these women are putting themselves through to survive. They are treated like incubators.

It feels exploitative especially considering they take most of the risks and are paid less than half of the money paid by the parents of the baby.

For anyone who thought the story about baby gammy was bad enough - a quick google search of the story shows that the biological father who abandoned the baby is a convicted sex offender.

1. Why is a convicted sex offender allowed to produce babies via surrogacy with an egg donor?

2. Why is any parent allowed to abandon their baby in a foreign country?

Shame on Australia for allowing this (and obviously the rest of the stories are awful too, it's just this one stood out)

A case in California broke recently of an elder chinese couple having 20 babies all from surrogate and no one would of known how many more they would try to create because one baby needed medical attention because of abuse from the Nanny that was watching those babies. Insane

At the end of the day, everything comes down to poverty. Poor people with no safety nets become easy pray for exploiters. Same thing with prostitution. Most people do it because they have no other choice. Poverty is a grueling thing. What is the person going to do when there is no food and no money and they have mouths to feed? Sure, it might not be the only way out. But I understand why they might resort to such measures when the pay is (somewhat) lucrative (compared to what they usually make after toilling away and exhausting themselves to death). If governments trully want to put a stop to such acts, they should invest in social security and support acts. Wealth is not being distributed appropriately. I'm not saying we shouldn't have rich people. I'm saying we shouldn't have people in poverty when there is so much wealth going around. I wish all the best to the surrogate mothers in this documentry. Governments can crack down on so many agencies and what not. But these establishments will just hide better. If the vulnerable people have a proper support system in times of need, they will never even second guess taking such drastic measures just to make enough money to support themselves and their family.

Surrogacy supporters keep pretending that there's nothing exploitative while the Thai interviewee said, "Everyone who comes here have problems."

Children shouldn't be used as commodities, and women shouldn't be subjected to exploitation. This is disheartening. If they want their people to avoid these things, then they need to give their people other opportunities.

Georgia has a really dark history about adoptions as well. This is very sad

Surrogacy puts babies at risk ending up with predators that otherwise would not be allowed to adopt

I’m not against surrogacy as a whole..I would rather see it done legally and right…for the safety of the child…myself I couldn’t do it as I would get to attached to a baby I’ve carried for nine months..☹️ the parents who end up with the children really needs to be looked into and monitored afterwards for a time. They have to make sure the child is safe and not being used for nefarious sick reasons as body parts…that really discussed me…these woman wouldn’t know what happens to babies doing it this way…they just taken there word for it….so many things to think on with this subject…scary
