Add the cream to the potatoes instead of the liver. I like the liver taste and the cream takes the flavor of the liver away. Not sure about mashed potatoes with apples.

A long time ago, my neighbour told me how good liver is if it's cooked to an inside of pink. Not quite well done, but a bit more than med rare. It should be pink, but not bleeding. I cook it this way all the time now and I always cook my chicken liver with onions, green peppers, and a lot of cooking sherry. That is so delicious. 😅
