  That first clip of the plane coming in at a 45 degree angle? I had a landing like that in Reykjavic, Iceland, approaching it over the windy cold North Atlantic sea . The passengers erupted in applause when the wheels hit the runway. Terrifying.

  Storm chasers are usually hooked up with local weather services, keeping local areas aware of what's going on.

  Storm Chasers are the metrologists' eyes on the ground. They notify the weather stations where and when the tornadoes touch down.

  I used to storm chase until I stayed out too late one night. I saw a tornado about a mile away, only during flashes of lightning, slowly getting closer. That terrified me knowing it was out there and not being able to see it. I stay home now. (and have a brand new shelter)

  When I was a kid I lived in a cul-de-sac or court. &nbsp;In the center of the court was a manhole cover and that thing got hit by lightening so often, you could see scorch marks on it. &nbsp;The crazy thing was that this court was surrounded by trees that hardly ever got hit. &nbsp;I don&apos;t know what it was about that manhole cover but, damn.
