I don't care much about koi. Or fish in general. I don't keep them. I don't really want to keep them.

But watching people talk about something they enjoy is just special. You can see the appreciation and joy every time you guys talk about a fish. Brilliant video

We here in Indonesia have a "Koi Keeping Contest" where breeders or wholesalers acquire a batch of fish to auction or raffle.

After fishes delivered to each contestants they will keep the koi for 6-8 months and at the end of the determined keeping period each contestants will send a video to be judged.

I've seen contestants grew 20 cm koi to 60 in just 8 months. Their feeding is crazy.

I live about twenty minutes away from the birthplace of nishikigoi in the mountains of Niigata and it's funny to me that I've learned mostly what I know about Koi through this channel.

At the very least I have a better idea of what I'm looking at and what the different equipment and ponds are when driving around. We also get an influx of Dutch folks once a year doing their big Koi shop.

I never thought I could become attached to a fish but that white and black is extraordinary.

When snakes have their "skin wrapping around their scales" it's called scale spread... and they need to go on a diet, lol.

Not a koi but I have a pretty big red garra. It’s funny, he looks like a miniature grey koi. Most of the older ones get that look to them, the ones on Google images look like they’re underweight and/or young. They’re both in the Cyprinidae family so I guess it makes sense that they share some similarities!

Thank god he’lll never get as big as these beauties, I love him but he already eats enough at his mighty 5.5 inches

Gorgeous fish by the way. I know that patternless koi aren’t as popular but I really think theyre beautiful
