I wish people would stop using total kills, block, aces etc as anything approaching relevant. This stat tells you NOTHING if you don't factor in matches and sets played, attempts, and so on. Reggers and Nikolov are good, of course. But their total attempts being so high just shows that Belgium and Bulgaria lack subs for these guys AND lack a varied offense. If you checked how both these teams played, most of the time their reception was so bad they couldn't even play middle or pipe, so no wonder they throw it to their "main guy".
None of the best teams have a main guy.
The same is true for blockers and servers. Guess why Howe and Semeniuk have the highest amount of blocks? Because they played in EVERY single match in EVERY single set, and both those teams played a lot of sets.

I'm not saying watch rotations but the idea of not watching something just because you need to read subtitles in your first language is so alien to me LOL

I also think Poland will win, they're scary strong this year. But we can hope for a japanese medal. Maybe silver? Fingers crossed 🤞

I think you could make an argument that half of Poland's lineup is among the top 7 players, Leon, Semeniuk, and Fornal are all absolutely world class. I'm also pretty biased for Ishikawa as being world class as well, and Ran to a lesser degree. I'm not sure what Americans would make this list as Matt A. is like 40 now, and Hanes is a relatively new addition to playing at this level, maybe Shoji?
