Blitzkrieg was a British invention developed by British military thinkers, most notably Major General J.F.C. Fuller, during the end of World War I (1917–1918), rather than by the Germans. Fuller’s "Plan 1919" proposed using massed tanks, aircraft, and mechanized infantry to cause total paralysis behind enemy lines, a concept the British military largely ignored, only for it to be successfully adopted by Germany years later.

ironic that Whittle hoped to use the power of the govt to be put in charge, but ended up getting shafted by it

Can someone tell me, being the B17 was given as an example of bomb load of 17,000lb. how many times that B17 load was carried in combat? Surely, the example should have been the Lancaster. And the Norden bombsight may have been a more sophisticated bombsight, but it was nonetheless about as capable as the less complicated Luftwaffe's Lotfernrohr 7, and the RAF's Mark XIV and SABS Bomb Sight.

I know that hindsight is a luxury but why didn't they use pulse jets with drop tanks to cope with range. Also the excotic materials needed for jet motors could have been replaced with high pressure ceramics and much cheaper. Only speaking from what I've learned from books and documentaries and that makes me ignorant but I'd like to hear from those in the know. It interests me

Normally it took 5 "Sherman "tanks to destroy a "Tiger " tank ,the problem was that Germany built less than 2000 Tiger I tanks and the americans built around 48000 ! Since 1942 it was game over for The Reich ! Just a question of time!!
