  There was a German sewist that used to work in my hometown who was so skilled and talented; you could bring her a pair of pants from the local Goodwill and she could make it look tailor-made for your body. I can’t remember what school she went to in Germany, but she said when she started they had new students do nothing for the first several weeks except sew in zippers on dresses and jeans. She said the instructors would come to each student’s table, look over your work, critique it, and no matter how good of a job you did, they’d rip it out and you had to start all over again. She said by the time she was done she could sew a zipper into a new pair of jeans as easy as if she were buttering toast, and I believe her. <br><br>Point being, I can post my drawings of clothes I want to make and call myself a fashion designer, but that does not make it so. I agree, not everyone has to go to a textile/fashion school in order to get into the industry and have value, but it is frustrating to see celebrities just handed the keys to the kingdom for no other reason then they are famous. Meanwhile, there are actual sewists/tailors/craftspeople who have been honing their skills for years, only to be told by Kai Cenat that they are doing it wrong. And let’s be honest, most celebrity designs are milquetoast. Not all, but most.
