  An original boulangerie is found in the 20ième, Le Bricheton. It has real traditional products. Another one worth mentioning is Au levain des Pyrénées.

  Merci Lucile! I will use this information if I ever get back to Paris! I have been a few times before and now feel that I probably was eating mass produced croissants but did not know it. I definitely would get up early and go to one of these that you recommend!

  Honestly, in France and Spain you can get top quality bread almost anywhere. I love it!

  Mamiche croissants were the best for me. Not far away from Bouillon Republique. Around 3pm there was even a queue at the entrance.<br><br>Strohler sold me yesterday&apos;s croissants at 11am (( but at least their babka (brioche ?) with chocolate and nuts was good<br><br>Chez Meunier croissants were fresh and good, but indeed not as buttery as Mamiche<br><br>BTW, here in Germany croissants with almonds are called Marzipan Croissant)))

  Merci beaucoup… I have suffered many terrible croissants on my frequent visits to France &nbsp;and now I &nbsp;am saved. I can now find the crunchy, buttery and fresh ones I love. &nbsp;Incidentally I prefer the 10th especially near the canal.

  À croissant aux amandes is indeed a croissant. Bakers actually found a way to « repurpose » stale croissants from the previous day(s): soak the stale croissants in a sugar syrup, open it stuff with the almond paste (frangipane), close it, spread some frangipane on top, sprinkle with almond flakes and cook in the oven until deliciously golden and crispy
