This video shows the beauty of Ninh Binh very well. Many people may not know that Ninh Binh was once the ancient capital of Vietnam in the 10th century. The royal capital was located in Hoa Lu, surrounded by limestone mountains that formed a natural fortress. Today it is not only famous for its stunning landscapes, but also for its important place in Vietnamese history.

Our family loved Ninh Binh as well.  The river ride through the cave, the beautiful and serene feel of the river is unreal.  Even our technology addicted teenage children sat and just stared for a good 15 minute straight without saying a word.  The rowing is so rhythmic that it made us feel like we're part of the setting and as a local.  The VN locals talking to us and teased and joked with us made us felt like we're part of their neighborhood instead of being tourists.<br><br>BTW, that che looks delicious and so refreshing.  We really like their flan and the Vinamilk yogurt.
