I am playing this game called Tunic that has its own alphabet of runes. By analysing many in-game sources I started to identify that each rune sounds like a syllable combined of consonant and vowel using the IPA sound instead of translating rune to letter. I had to start learning IPA if I wanted to finish the game because enigmatic texts are in a way mandatory to solve secrets and mysteries in the game. As a non-English native speaker, I never thought I'd one day try to learn English phonetics at its core.

This was such a helpful video! I have always struggled with Phonetics, but this has been so informative, and easy to follow. I definitely don't think it is for everyone - like you said - but this information has assisted me in finishing my assignment! FANTASTIC video all 'round :)

I have been learning Japanese for more than 3 years, so Im so used to speaking Phonetically, and it comes fairly natural to me. 🙃

Thank you for a lovely clear explanation. Sometimes I write sepat IPA characters on top of letters or syllables of words with tricky pronunciation.
