  I think a lot of people already appreciate the work that Eggers has done but I genuinely believe that in 25-30 years people are going to look back at his work in absolute awe and kick themselves for not appreciating it more in the moment.

  I feel like this interviewer is trying to tell him what his art is before he gets a chance to really explain it himself and he gets this a lot lol like you can tell he gets the same questions over and over again and lately people seem to just see his films as just “dark and edgy” when there is so much more to them he tells such beautiful stories.

  The VVitch made me an instant fan. This mans movies stopped romanticizing monsters and the dark forces, his portrayal of witches have this sinister medieval druid feel to them. The viewers don&apos;t want to become one, instead they dread the moment when they&apos;ll enter the frame. He never puts his own beliefs into his works and instead focuses on making the film&apos;s world believable. <br> <br>His films have this hopelessness and yet still have this sense of wonder, which is really rare for a horror film - you get all the negative emotions of the characters&apos; fate/environment yet you never forget you&apos;re watching a movie. Everything is shot so thoughtfully, with attention to detail. Feels like Hans Christian Andersen/Brothers Grimm story come to life.

  Robbert Eggers is about to go 5/5. I seriously love his horror so much and the Northman was amazing. He is my favourite director working right now. So damn excited for any film he brings out.
