  So I&apos;ve done this a couple times now, but most recently I covered the bucket with plastic wrap to get a little greenhouse going and my rye/mix seed germinated in a week!

  You should really do this to any seed I always do it for any plant that I am growing from seed. I just did a bunch of watermelon and cantaloupe seeds and after planting it only took a few days to have them sprout up.

  Pre germination is definitely the way. Took my TTTF 3-4 days to see sprouts starting in the bucket, 2-3 days on the lawn and I had grass babies popping up. <br><br>Never doing anything else again

  I just pregerminated some Barenbrug HGT Kentucky Bluegraas a month ago. It’s a premium coated seed. You can still pregerminate costed seed, but you will need to wash it off.

  I have a Lab and chickens running around my yard so I made the switch to WHEAT seed... I could not believe the difference. I keep it cut to about 3&quot; height and it never dies in the summer even with the dog pee and chickens constantly eating it, it survives every year and my backyard looks beautiful!
