Nobody loves Tom Morello the way Tom Morello loves Tom Morello.

They’ve made 3 albums of original material. The last of which was in 1999. Goodbye already.

Finn you are so right about the rhythm section for RATM . I saw them live at Lalapalooza and the first thing that hit me was how locked in the bass and drums were unlike any band I’d seen to that point.

A former workmate of mine fled from Cambodia. He never talked about what he suffered through, all he once said whas that the Khmer Rouge took everything from him.

On the other hand there is my girlfriend who said her family was happy when Vietnam got reunited.

Creative differences is more about “I can’t stand looking at my band mates faces anymore” rather than “I can’t believe they want to do the bridge section in half-time”

There actually was event that precipitated this. Their RRHOF induction. All band members minus Tom Morello have been vocally opposed to being inducted - especially in light of the revelations about founder Jann Wenner. Tom Morello is an active member of the Rock Hall induction committee -- the body who votes on who gets inducted. Massive conflict of interest, there. Instead of standing in solidarity with his bandmates, Morello showed up to accept the induction.

It was my teenage dream to see them live. My best friend and I in HS went see Audioslave in 2006 which is the closest I’ll get. They did a Rage set minus vocals and Chris came out to sing Killing in the Name. I was supposed to finally see Rage in the spring of 2020 and well… that one got canceled.

In the 90s political discourse wasn’t nearly as Polarizing as it is now either so it wasn’t front of mind for most of us listening back then.

My favorite thing was politicians like Paul Ryan praising Rage thinking that their message is the same as his.
