Basically a hitman game where you are agent 47 as a kid

what if the chores being infuriating is on purpose to put you in the same mindset as the kid and making killing them more gratifying because you said it yourself "im the kid of satan why am i doing chores???"

This game actually has a sequel. You start off needing to escape a mental hopital and then you team up with the detective from the 1st game in order to take down a new threat. That being Lucius older brother. The game has you basically going around town causing choas in order to show the devil that your the better - or in this instance worse - son than the antagonist. And then at the end of the game you face off against the antagonist in a fight to the death with the detective helping you win the fight.

Wow, haven't thought about this game since PewDiePie's videos on it.
A thing about this game that a lot of people maybe seem to miss is that its based on the movie The Omen. Pretty much the exact same plot. Father running for an election, devil son, an investigation as to all the bodies dropping, etc. In fact, the puzzle piece ending is a direct reference to the remake of The Omen. The priest is impaled by a falling spike, and the father is taken down by the cops right as he has the upper hand. The original Omen had a different accident for the priest, if I remember right, but it has been a long time since I last saw it. Honestly the only thing missing to complete the full reference is Lucius turning to smile into the camera as the credits roll.
This game is a great example of how a movie can inspire a game. It's not a perfect 10/10, but its still an interesting concept that took inspiration from an unlikely source that managed to be entertaining. Plus it actually managed to be better than most actual video game adaptations of movies, but that is kind of setting a low bar.

i honestly wasn't aware this game had such negative reviews from critics. i thought it was a well-loved game for the time - a genuine classic! granted, i was an edgy little 10 year old when it released so perhaps i was the prime demographic but i was OBSESSED with it. glad you appreciated the music! it brings back so many memories.

absolutely nothing wrong with searching for answers after however much time you want! 20 mins is very reasonable, and i'm the same. i don't want my frustration to impact my enjoyment of the games i play. hope the algorithm picks this video up :)

The priest getting impaled outside is a direct reference to the omen. Classic.

The Puzzle Ending mirrors the ending for the of The Omen where Gregory Peck dies failing to kill Damien and I love it. It's such a great homage.

The puzzle ending is like the ending to the movie Damien, where the dad finally was about to murder his demon child, only for the cop to shoot him

The upside down cross thing always bothered me when I first saw it, cause an upside down cross is just St Peter's cross; it's still a Christian symbol, not a demonic one.
I know it makes sense in-universe for the lore, but it's still a weird choice.
