Making P70k at 22 yrs old without a college degree is very impressive in the Philippines. Good for her. Here's hoping she gets ahead in life.

Break that cycle. Everyone in that household should contribute

I have a teacher who is just like her. She supported her parents and siblings, and when her siblings had kids, she supported her nephews and nieces too!

In the end, when she was in her late 50's, no one has extra money to support for her medication and when she was undergoing dialysis.

This breadwinner culture is sick.

This is one of the worst type of "culture" here in the Philippines. I believe all members of the family should contribute.

I feel sorry for her. As a parent, I would never do that to my child. If you want to have 7 children, make sure you can support all of them at least till they are 18 and can start working. By burdening the eldest sibling you are depriving her of saving for her own future and enjoying young adult life.

This is the norm in the Philippines. Mag aanak ng marami and gagawing bread winner si Panganay. Galit pa ang parents kapag magkaka love life si breadwinner.

Just one medical emergency will wipe out this family’s savings. It’s not supposed to be just a one-man job. All her siblings that are able to work should help her out.

Girl, take care of yourself FIRST then your mother ONLY. Teach all your siblings to work and stand on their own to be self sufficient and NOT depend on you after finishing school.

Hope her siblings will start working hard too

All to blame for this hardship are the parents. Imagine making 6 children and expecting the eldest of them to support them.

This young lady is amazing. Such positive attitude at a young age, while carrying the burden of supporting 7 people. She is extremely intelligent, level headed and sensible. I wish her all the best success for her future.
