One can’t overstate the loss of Ehlers. He drove an entire line.

9:00 - I can tell you why. As a goaltender my whole life in the Canadian minor hockey and junior system I don't remember any time where the goaltenders were used to be developed for more than maybe a 5 minutes while the coaches were with players doing something else. Goalies were used as training devices for the skaters drills. We were a complete afterthought and no matter how much I brought up needing dedicated time to develop the goalies in practice it was basically ignored. I saw this many places. Hopefully that will change but the limit and expensive ice times probably hamper that idea

You are right they shouldn't be close to last but I said all year last yr WPG was a mirage. They won Prez trophy-great for them. But as Colorado fan I said they were below average at 2C,& Dallas-Colorado winner would beat them relatively easily. Turns out it took a miracle to beat St Louis. Obviously Hellunbuck is great,& had back 2 back historic seasons-i didn't believe he'd do it 3 straight years. And they have a very good top line,& #1 dman in Morrisey.

But after that the roster just isn't that good.I picked them to be the 7 seed before the season so obviously I didn't have them close to last. And I'll take Commodores word for it on Arniel. But I never bought them as a true elite contender,& I'm loving their struggles this yr. I don't completely write them off yet as wild card but they have no chance to catch the top 3 in the Central & will be 1 & done quick if they do get in.

As a hockey parent with a kid currently in youth hockey in Canada.
Almost all parents don’t want there kids playing goalie cause because of the “goalies are different/weird” tag
Plus costs and at a certain age only playing half the games or less than that

Buffalo has good weather, half the year. May to November is the sweet period.
