  Former neutrino physicist here and I am not aware of any serious scientist who believes that neutrinos can travel faster than c. The anomalous OPERA results were found to be due to a loose fibre optic cable.experiments.

  In 1930, Wolfgang Pauli proposed the neutrino to account for energy, momentum, and angular momentum conservation in beta decay. Initially calling it a &quot;neutron,&quot; confusion arose when James Chadwick discovered a heavier particle with the same name in 1932. Enrico Fermi later renamed Pauli&apos;s particle &quot;neutrino&quot; to differentiate it.
