Dunno if I missed this one but you should do The Giver by Lois Lowry.

I was wondering if you'll do anthem. It's one book I read in highschool before we had to read 1984 and it was weird to say the least. I'm glad you covered it!

I might have to read Vox, I'm curious how sign languages would figure into this. Seems like it would be vital to any rebellion movement. It's interesting, like Language Deprivation, But Make It Hearing People.

This oddly reminded me of how back in the day Big Tobacco realized that they would make more money if women smoked. How did they achieve that goal? Telling women that men said they shouldn’t.
That simple!

A lot of these books seem to be about dystopian society. On the outer layers they seem different but all boil down to a very similar thing

The machine stops seems more like a story about what if people worship machines… you know, idols that obviously are false.
It’s not about magic, but what it’s better for humans.
The Hebrew God teaches, He doesn’t want puppets, we are allowed to choose, but He also teaches that not everything is good for us.

I wish the world is like “The Power”. I wanna have the ability to know I have nothing to fear.

Man, given that there’s nothing on this earth dumber than a teenager, I assume that if teens could suddenly thunderstruck you randomly we are all doomed.

Edit: to you buttpained teens in the comments, I was a teenager once and I am not excluding myself from my comment.

The only flaw in the fantasy that is The Power is... guns are more effective than lightning.

There would be a whiplash of power that unless every woman went on to the offensive then no.

The first dozen to light men up and the recoil would be the permanent suppression and oppression of women.

The concept is nice if you take out the reality that the one's in power will scorch the Earth overnight to keep power.

If so, women in this fantasy would be picked for birthing.

Still, within the same concept. It's not that humanity loses itself, it's the apathy that comes with power.

The starving dog cares not who it kills or when the food runs out. He cares only that he's the one eating.
