UPDATE (Sept. 23, 2026): Crown prosecutors dropped the charges against Amit Jalota on Sept. 15, 2026, according to an indictment document obtained by CBC News. Jalota had been charged with possession of property obtained by crime, theft over $5,000 and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.
