Words can not describe the almost subliminal way in which Debussy's music matches up with Monet's paintings, it's truly ethereal and whimsical. They will forever be my favorite impressionists.

Gonna imagine myself causally chatting with Monet wife about life while holding my own parasol to contrast hers; all the while we're walking through his paintings 🤍

I wonder what it must've been like.. Being a Frenchman in the 19th century. For impressionist painting and impressionist composing to match up so seamlessly, there must've been a shared underlying emotion washing through all of French society. Somber and melancholic, yet at peace and even hopeful.

When you're looking out the window of a train time seems to move slower, the world suddenly becomes a lot less detailed and rather more impressionistic.
Mountains instead of grass,
Oceans instead of waves,
Cities instead of people.
But as the train slows to a stop, the mountains become the grass, the oceans become the waves, the colors become a dim street lamp or a broken bottle, the noise becomes a car engine or a laugh.
The cities become the people, each and every one of them waiting, waiting silently at the station, waiting at home, waiting in lines, waiting for sleep, waiting for someone to talk to, someone to cry to, someone to hug,
Waitng for someone who will come back,
waiting for someone who won't.
And when you finally leave the train behind, you become lost again within the noise, the colors, the smells, everything.

What would it be like to live in a painting? To live as a motionless figure behind glass borders. to live in a wonderland, where the world would be different, painted by a painter's hands and one's own imagination. The poetry of life, the touch of the wind, the caress of the sun's rays. Everyone would look at me with interest and wonder. They would admire the delicate brushstrokes, the emphasis on keeping simple lines or the blurred background capturing the foggy weather. No, I do not want people to admire me, I do not want to belong to everyone, I want to be precious only to some.
Still, I will never forget the way he looked at me. He looked at me like I was a work of art. His look and dreamy smile seemed to whisper to me his feelings for me. Honest and pure. Glass and countless distances separated me from him, but his look made me think that he was standing right in front of me. Even though I was trapped in the image, he noticed me with a look that I will truly never forget... ❤

When I was around 8, I visited Monets house with my school, I saw the real bridge (his famous painting with water lilies) and now I love that painting with many others of him. It's like I find peace in his art. And visiting his "universe" was one of my favorite childhood memories. If you get the chance to visit his house and his beautiful garden, I'm telling you, it's really worth it.
