A little context for you, since there are a lot of American euphemisms. This song is about 2 - 17 year old kids making out in a car. So they are trying to get to 'paradise' (having sex) by the dashboard light - the dim light inside the car. The baseball game references how we used to talk about making out. 1st base was a kiss. 2nd base was hands under her shirt. 3rd base was hands down her pants. And home plate is having sex. Going all the way means having sex. So, they are making out, and are just about to have sex when she says "stop right there". She wants to know if he will love her forever if they have sex. He finally breaks and agrees he will love her until the end of time. But then later in the relationship they can't stand each other. So they are praying for the end of time so he won't break his promise, but they can finally get away from each other.
A lot of Meat Loaf songs are like watching a musical. He was an actor and performed on many stages. So his theatrical nature comes out in his music. The Bat Out Of Hell album had 5 hits out of 7 songs, and was one of the best selliing albums of all time. It was also his debut album. Meat Loaf is the man singing in this song. It's his stage name - not the name of a band. Good luck with your new channel!

It starts with "I remember every little thing as if it happened only yesterday" and ends with "It was long ago, and it was far away, and it was so much better than it is today". So they are remembering back to when they were 17 while they are years into their marriage, and I don't know if you got the baseball reference, you laughed during it, but if you didn't, Google "American baseball metaphor used to describe increasing levels of physical intimacy".
