  Stop blaming the sober coach. Gerber was an adult, he was there temporarily and in a safe place (So the coach thought). He would have OD’d there or somewhere else if he was hell bent on using that night.

  The Fault is Presleys. I lost a child this way one year ago… he was in a sober living home in California and ultimately he used and it gave him a heart attack. It was his choice and no one’s fault but his.

  I know there is always finger pointing in these OD’s but he did this to himself. Sometimes all the money and resources in the world won’t change anything. It’s absolutely heartbreaking, it sounds like this family tried their best.

  He was a grown 27-yr old man. No one is responsible for his actions other than himself. Not his coach, not his parents, not the facility owner. Stop scapegoating bc he was famous!

  Why didn't the coach take him to hospital like i did my sister which saved her life. So many coaches so called rehabs are horrible. Legal thievery

  Many addicts are looking for their last high before rehab. My sister was robbed and dragged by a car ( her handbag was wrapped around her shoulder  ) by two young men who were two days later to be admitted to rehab. We need a better system of getting addicts into detox before rehab. Waiting for beds, insurance clearance etc hurts everyone .

  This story makes perfect sense- Presley probably checked in into the “sober facility” (quotes intended) to have one last weekend of partying in what both the client and the “sober coach” (quotation marks absolutely intended) believed to be a safe environment. Presley’s thought process must have been: I’m in a safe space, where I can do drugs and I’m paying good money and if anything goes wrong, they will have the means to give me any medical assistance I might need- so let’s go HARD this weekend”.<br>This is just my interpretation- it takes one one to know one- been there, survived that by the Grace of God. What a tragedy.
