  My favourite joke of the whole season was the sign that said "Finally, a news station you can trust!" then when Gumball and Darwin put the glasses on, it reads "JK LOL"

  Gumball and Penny are way more lovey dovey than usual and I actually really liked it because in the OG series I felt Penny was being underused in the latter half and their relationship felt more cynical definitely enjoyed the change.

  So, my mom {rest her soul} was IN LOVE with this show, [her favorite episode is The Pet, where Richard gets the kids the turtle from hell, from the awesome store, an says its a puppy] Sadly she passed on just before the series ended. I remember fondly we joked how similar to Nicole she was, every time Nicole had a *moment*, i thought to myself &quot;yea mom would do that.&quot;<br>EDIT cuz omg: Thank you to everyone who commented. i cant reply to all of you so as a generalized message; Thank you so much for the kind replies.   My favorite line was probably “He literally DIED when he sent that text message by mistake!”<br><br>It was such a genuine use of “literally” as it wasn’t too much of an exaggeration. He froze up and went pale until Nicole cleared things up XD

  The only problem i have is that they made gumball and darwin more like a couple than actual siblings, js rubs me the wrong way

  That &quot;really awesome adult swim animated segment&quot; was actually done by a HUGE underground graffiti and skateboard related artist Nasty Neckface, signature on the halfpipe and all. The guy grinding that the cop car hits during this scene is a cartoon version of the man himself! Definitely, just like in &quot;The Ollie&quot; showing the ppl who work on this show more than know what they are talking about when they bring something up/in

  Actually shed genuine tears from the generational trauma ep with Richard. Gumball is so good at tackling adult subject matter yet keeping it hilarious at the same time.

  Some folks are saying the social commentary is too much but I think you guys are overthinking it, one of the things that made the old gumball special was its inconsistency about how they reacted to everyday issues. Don’t you guys remember how they constantly delved into being poor and how merciless the banks were, and the handful of episodes about big companies that many people thought was about Amazon even that one episode where they showed a snippet of Darwin acting like a police officer and arresting gumball in order to scare off the people who were trying to move in to neighborhood, they even joked about how police are unnecessarily aggressive. The problem isn’t that the show is more political, it’s that a lot of political events have happened over the last 6 years. You guys are forgetting that back when the show was being made that things were a little calmer, the most people joked about was that politicians were wasting time doing nothing. They ended early 2019 before all the actually crazy things started happening, with AI, wars, a pandemic, I mean hell, are you guys forgetting that TikTok only started getting popular around the end of 2018? A few months before the show ended. There’s a lot more things going on compared to before so it makes sense that there would be more details about it. Not to mention from the few rumors I saw spreading around twitter, the creators don’t trust Disney to keep their hands off it forever or at least to keep renewing it over a long period of time so they might as well add as much to it as possible now.
