  What I like most about this documentary is that it treats Russia as a geographical story rather than just a collection of destinations. By connecting landscapes, climate, and history, it becomes much easier to understand the scale and complexity of the country.

  I drove a car from moscow to vladivostock. Tough roads. Beautiful people. Happiness should not be measured by the size of your house.

  Russia spans 11 time zones—more than any other country on Earth. You can literally watch the sun rise in one part of the country while people are still asleep in another, a reminder of just how immense and diverse it really is

  This documentary reminds me that every country is like a novel—you can't judge the whole story by reading only the headlines. Russia's landscapes and everyday life add chapters most of us rarely get to see. Meanwhile, I still judge restaurants by the parking lot before I walk in.

  I live thirty miles from a community of Old Believers. In the early eighties, I had the rare privilege to learn some of their folk songs. In 1986, I traveled 48 hours from Moscow on the Trans-Siberian with three other women to Novosibirsk, in middle Siberia. There, we repatriated the songs from the Old Believers at an Ethnographic Music Festival at the Academ Gorodok. An exceptional and treasured experience in every way.

  There is so much bias in western media Hollywood that the the people in thevwest and western Europe think of Russia as a mafia state which it isn't . I wish I could visit one day and travel across whole Russia in transsiberoan train from Moscow to Vladivostok... Russia a beautiful nation of beautiful people
