Apologies in advance for any editing errors. This video was a nightmare to put together. A fun nightmare, though.

Mario entered Dry World, before it became Wet-Dry World.

The additional information for "Enters wet dry world early" was mind blowing. That entry always bugged me because the iceberg presents such esoteric knowledge that was unknown to everyone for so long yet that specific entry everyone just accepted that the author was just...wrong? I knew there just had to be more to it.

Your explanation on Mario getting into Wet Dry World early was phenomenal. I can't believe the skybox flew over our heads for years and you made the connection that you made. You're an absolute beast

The noise at the waterfall is just a bad audio loop. That's why it plays every second or so, the noise of the waterfall is looping but it wasn't cut properly, so that sound is just the start of the audio file. The Zelda 64 games have a similar issue, with the rupee sound being very poorly compressed and having a subtle bassy white noise playing through the whole sound effect.

Yoshi's red shell is caused by vertex colors. The way 3D models are colored in a lot of early 3D games, they use very few actual image textures or none at all, with instead the physical geometry being colored with one solid shade. For instance, the only actual textures on Mario's model are the details- the M on his cap, his eyes, and his buttons, and the rest of him is solid colored vertex coloring. This can be really easily seen in Final Fantasy VII with a lot of the enemies, who use almost exclusively vertex coloring.
So, there just weren't enough polys to give Yoshi the white rim around his shell, and since he's an easter egg, adding in those polys and putting even just a tiny bit more strain on the hardware, likely wasn't worth it.

I wish I found this video sooner, it's really great, especially the last layer.

17:47 the reason for this is because the flower's behavior data is almost identical to that of the lava bubbles that are used in Lethal Lava Land.

49:10 okay this... also kind of blew my mind too?? I never even considered that!

57:57 I believe there's a consistent setup to get the weird Boo laugh to play. I think you just stand flush against the mansion near the door and then backflip. I saw it in a video from a channel whose name I can't quite remember but I remember they found it was consistent.

Hi, I know this video is 6 months old, but I wanted to point out something about 120 spiritual number that always makes me chuckle.
I'm not a believer, but i do lots of research on the occult, so it always makes me laugh when people say the spiritual number "commands them to do X"
That's not how those work!
Angel numbers are not commands, they're "messages". If you believe in angels, coming accross an angel number is a message to you specifically in that moment. In this case it could mean that you're doing great, the "angel" is encouraging you to keep going, but it's not commanding you. They are gentle messages that are meant to lift you up and consider shifting your focus.
Picture this. You've been having a bad week, month even. You get home from school/work, sit down to play Super Mario 64, you onlyt have to get a few stars to complete the game, so you go at it. You get your final star, see the angel number, and you feel like you achieved something. You think to yourself "maybe i'm being a bit pessimistic, i got this done, i can do more stuff!" You feel encouraged and like you can make some progress on that project you've been thinking of scrapping for some time now. You realized, throughj completing that game, that you can do more than you thought 2 hours ago when you were drowning in worry.
People with mental health issues like mine (depression, BPD, etc) can probably relate to that. One single "insignificant" thing like completing a videogame can be extremely motivating. You feel better now, you have the initiative, you can do it!

Anyway, if you read this Krick, I love Love love your channel, it's just awesome. Love putting this video in the background as an audio stim while i draw. Love your soothing voice and your sense of humor too. Keep up the good work dude, and hope you're doing ok.

There's always been one thing I wanted to add to the Mario 64 Iceberg. It's likely not intentional and just a quirk with perspective and a little bit of Pareidolia, but one time I was playing around in Bowser in the Dark World and took a moment to look closely at the skybox and I noticed that, in a large circle overhead, there are formations that look like giant stone goombas crying as they overlook the stage.

The majority of the skybox is made up of a field of stalactites and stalagmites. These Stone Goombas can be seen right at the top of the stalactites, just below where the skybox transitions into darkness. They're standing side by side and circling nearly the entire stage. Obviously, these are just triangular rock formations with small stalactites sticking out, but the perspective makes them look like they're just huge and further away.

When you start to see them as faces, it gives the whole skybox a much more ominous feeling.

In regards to the Flower animation in Lethal Lava Land, I believe that the object that spawns those flowers is the same object (or very similar) as the one that spawns the lava bubbles that actually do appear in the stage. It might have just been a general purpose object for spawning animated textures at random positions, but only the lava bubble effect ever got used

L is Real 2401 is either a massive coincidence, or the person who left it in is either a time traveler, a psychic, or a psychic time traveler.
