  The question is not if Trump lies and is an autocrat. The question is how we as UK and EU + other middle power nations (Canada, Australia etc.) will uphold the liberal international order and convince enough voters not to fall for populism.

  If Europe doesn&apos;t pivot, like Canada has had to do, it will not be at the table, it will be on the menu. Appeasing Trump is like spitting in a bottomless pit.
