  Iconic Match. I watched this match with my uncle & cousins and won the bet of icecream as Shoaib Akhtar snatched the victory from an impossible 71/1 to 101 all out. Memories!

  Thanks for sharing this wonderful memory from yesteryears. I was seated in one of the stands at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, vividly recalling the match that followed 14 consecutive defeats to South Africa. This time, Pakistan secured a victory, and the Pakistani crowd's enthusiasm was unforgettable as they erupted into cheers at the pivotal moment when the South African supporters fell into silence and dismay. Ironically, shortly after this victory, South Africa traveled to India, and sadly, Hansie Cronje resigned from South African cricket due to his involvement in a match-fixing scandal alongside others.

  I watched this match as a kid and I was really happy that Pakistan won the series. Now, I realized at <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vq-8MYIATXM&amp;t=324">5:24</a>-<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vq-8MYIATXM&amp;t=345">5:45</a>, the family of Dale Benkenstein who came all the way from South Africa to watch him play but he got a 148km ball from Shoaib Akhtar and lost his wicket!
