In my vehicle I have a FT-891 hooked up to a ATAS120a, with this setup I have made contacts all over the USA , Europe and this morning (30th July) I made contact into Japan on 17m (10317km) from here in Ontario. Hopefully I will get Austrailia and New Zealand at some point. I will definitely have to try this method. The Atas is a super antenna, well worth the money.

Good times! While you didn't seem to have any issues attaching the radials, for my clumsy self, I'd use wing nuts or just spade connectors so that the nut didn't have to come all the way off. I'd lose half of those things in the grass or sand trying to setup each time, hihi. Thanks for the video!

I use it on 40m all the time. Did two activations in the last 72 hours and had nearly 200 QSOs including a lot of DX.

I bought a Center Hub from Wolf River Coil, drilled it out to 5/8th inch for a 2" barrel connector, put the legs on and set it on a 102" x 36" Faraday cloth. Worked like a charm.
