PSA's INSANE National Prices 🚨.... Is This Junk Wax Era 2.0?

You price it at $12,000 to make it seem like the other prices below it are worth it. It's a famous strategy in retail. You put up multiple similar items on a display. One is super expensive where you expect few, if any, of purchase it. Then one at the lower price that may get a good amount of sales. Then one in the middle priced well and of good value that you expect to sell the most. Sure some will do the $12,000. But PSA can discount it to some if they want or just sell it to super high priced card grading to prove the value of the service as marketing. When you say things that they should take you out to steak or drive you in an expensive car, you are playing into the strategy they are employing to get people to increase the perceived value of grading.

I’m trying to get a pre national deal and every channel I go to I’m watching someone talking about the auction this month. As a seller…nice work. As a buyer…knock it off. There is no way to make me happy. I finally feel like I fit in. 😂

Jeremy and Chris.. read my response to the video (in the title.. "ebay order cancelled").. it was a video you posted about a month ago. Just wondering how common this is now. Perhaps with prices moving as fast as they are (and/or high prices).. should have maybe reposted here.. but kind of off topic. Thanks. It hurt a little reliving the experience:).. thank you guys for putting on such a great show!

Interesting note on the McNall / Gretzky Wagner...Bill Mastro is still out there collecting. He's the original submitter of this card. The reason I know this is he bought a card from me a few years ago off of eBay. I didn't know it was him until I printed out the mailing label and it had his name on it. I Google Map searched his address and he lives in a gated neighborhood on a golf course...interesting and true.

Question for a future episode possibly. Last week I went to my local mom & pop card shop in Southern California (Hesperia, it's in the High Desert). I asked if I could take a look at either Bowman Chrome and/or Topps Chrome baseball...whatever they had on hand. The manager told me that they are unable to get these products anymore due to the product being giving as a priority to "Breakers." Here's my question (and frustration)...Is this distribution practive by Topps/Bowman good or bad for the collecting hobby. I would argue, and I hope you agree, that this hurts collectors as it prioritizes one aspect of the industry, but leaves behind small shops and collectors. What are your thoughts?

The T206 deal story was amazing. The question and answer about consigning with CIA I thought was explained very well and that could be a topic you gentlemen covered as I feel many of listeners would benefit from hearing how CIA goes about accepting consignments.

Fun Question: As collector of Chicago Cubs, I am putting together the 1961 Topps set in PSA 7 grade because it was first year that Banks, Williams and Santo were together, if you were to put together a set, (sorry Snowman T206 is off the table) what post war year would you put together and why?
