  I for one think it was an absolutely beautiful and heartbreakingly gorgeous fairytale. Yes, a fairytale, for adults. No sex, no cussing or swearing, just a beautifully well-made love story with a happy ending. That thrilled every little princess and prince in us.

  Ladyhawke is one of my all time favorite movies including the score, and yes, in  part BECAUSE it IS and 80's fairy tale love story.

  Our family loves Ladyhawke! We all gather together every two years and watch it after Sunday dinner. All the grandchildren are into it now. It's a tradition we plan on keeping forever!

  The thing that makes this movie a moving romantic tragedy is the snow pit with the coming dawn and the reactions as they see each other for just a moment then CHANGE. She flys off and he cry’s out in agony, his pain is so clear you feel it yourself. “ alway together, but forever apart”. 😭

  I owned the VHS, dvd, and digital versions of this movie.  I wore out the VHS tape.  It is one of my all time favorite movies.  Still watch it at least once a year.

  This 1980s film is responsible for the almost ubiquitous use of Friesian horses as midlevel war horses in film work. They took a breed of horse that was speedily heading for extinction, and turned it into a must have for re-enactments and romantics. Sadly this was almost too late and all these beautiful horses are dangerously interbred, with a high foal morbidity. &nbsp;<br>There wasn’t a little girl in the 90s that wanted to be rescued by a prince on a white horse,; they all wanted to be rescued by Rutger &nbsp;Hauer on his Baroque Friesian stallion!

  Ladyhawk and Excalibur are my two favourite 80&apos;s films, i still love to re-watch them. Top tier acting, music is phenomenal, it still makes me cry all these decades later 👏 👌 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
