as 90s born i never find this movie cringe. this movie saved AB's career. this was the first movie where AB was a side actor rather than main actor. AB ji kept on making lead role movies and box office me movies pith rahi thi.
this movie was his first career shift and it paid off well at that time.

It’s not just about Mohabbatein — it’s about most of the old Bollywood classics like Hum Saath-Saath Hain, Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, Vivah, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and many more.
When we watch them today, there are definitely moments that feel a little cringe or over-the-top, and we sometimes laugh at those scenes. But at the same time, there’s something incredibly charming and comforting about these films. No matter how many times they come on TV, we can’t resist watching them again. We don’t switch the channel — instead, we sit and watch with the same curiosity and excitement as always.
Maybe that’s the magic of old Bollywood — a unique blend of drama, emotion, innocence, and nostalgia that makes these movies timeless. ❤️

People came to theatres for song and actors, do hell with movie plot. If scenes and songs are good it's paisa vasool, which the OTT generation will never understand.

Yeah the thing about embracing the so called "overdramatic" stuff always fascinates me . For me , social media has made fun of such stuff to the point ki nowdays films apne aap ko zyaada hi serious lene lagi hain. For me such tropes never get me out of the film , it helps me to invest in a different world
