What if I’m getting a used van but it’s n signing on to a 3rd party business where it’s a spilt n the pay but it’s guaranteed money just to start. Until I learn the load boards n can book my own loads. I’ll be bringing n 10k+ a month to start. Does that sound like a good starting point?

Insurance is the biggest expense in my opinion, even with a stellar driver record and credit. If you're driving in the mountains get a Ram Promaster. I drive up to Truckee and Tahoe and that van handles steep grades going up or downhill with aplomb. It's got the best visibility with the oversized mirrors you have total command of the road. I bought mine brand new in 2020 for 34K they are now pushing 45-50 depending on the vehicle.

Say if you have to vans, do you have to get a usdot # UCR BOC-3 and all that for each van you have

Here's a better idea. Get a bank or SBA loan and buy a sprinter or cargo. Lease on to a REPUTABLE established company, Fedex, Bolt, TryOne, Panther, ect. Company NOT fleet owner.
Work for a year to see if you really like it, Pay your loan down, Build a bank-roll.
Then and ONLY then start the paperwork to incorporate your own authority.
The first rule of trucking is ALWAYS "If You Can't Afford Trucking You Can't Succeed In It".
