A big difference between Johnson and Switzer is that Johnson was not happy with his team’s sloppy penalties. Switzer didn’t care as long as scoreboard looked good.

If Jerry Jones had signed Emmitt before the season began, and if Leon Lett hadn't had another goofed play on Thanksgiving, Dallas could have gone 15-1 in 1993.

Emmitt Smith is the ultimate example of setting a goal and achieving it. He wrote down his goals as a rookie. Win Super Bowl and Super Bowl MVP. Which is a lot of players goals. But he set the goal of becoming the NFL's all time leading rusher and achieved it! To stay focused and committed for that long is unreal.

It was the era when NFC east division winner almost means world champion

Frank Wycheck was on Washington. Man Washington really hit the skids in 93. Age & injuries really took their toll

Man it’s fun watching games when you know you were the best team in football. Not good. Not competitive. The best!

This was a tune up game for the Cowboys.  The Giants would lose against the Cardinals earlier that day and with both teams at 11-4 it would set up the famous Emmitt Smith separated shoulder game.  Whoever won that game would win the NFC East and win homefield advantage throughout the playoffs.  With the Redskins, well their season was already down the tubes.  It would be the end of Mark Rypien, Ricky Sanders, Joe Jacoby, Jeff Bostic, Art Monk, etc in Washington.  The team that went 9-7 the year before their season was essentially over after the second week. Richie Petitbon would never coach again.  For the Cowboys it was another Super Bowl trophy for them, back to back with that one.
