I Wish I Built a Voron Sooner

I'm really sorry about the audio. I wasn’t happy with it at all and tried a bunch of ways to fix it (including Adobe Podcast). Next time, I’ll use my shotgun mic as much as possible instead of relying just on the little Rode ones, especially for quiet scenes. I also want to properly test my settings and figure out what actually works best since I think that played a part too. Still, needing the fan on and windows open to stay cool, alongside the noise of the cicadas, really didn't help this production. *5.4.25 update, so Davinci Resolve just got an update that would have fixed pretty much all of the audio 😅Well, better late than never...

I’m switching to a different lens, which should also help (hopefully) with clarity, and shot variety and stability. The subtitle delay wasn’t something I could fix (I've spent too many hours tweaking little things,) and I still need to spend some time dialing in my colors as I've been too lenient.

Doing a video this long has definitely made me want to improve my shorter videos even more as they will be a lot more manageable haha. Some clips had random halation left over from the 1,800-clip purge (I did it manually instead of using auto, so some slipped through).

There are still quite a few little issues here and there, but I just can’t spend any more time on it. I apologise if there’s anything I missed or blatantly did wrong.

At 49:23, I say 300%, but I actually sped up a timelapse by an additional 300%. That was my mistake—I only caught it on the final export…

I'm aware this is a long video, and that it may contain a lot of ads. I've manually removed several slots to make ads less frequent, but with how YouTube is, IDK if that's gonna affect things. They're making some "bad" changes to ads in the near future, so I'm curious to see how this will affect my income and the viewers (your) satisfaction.

Just FYI, don't ever use red loctite on such small parts unless you're absolutely sure you don't ever want to undo it again. Red requires heat (use of a torch is common) and high torque to break it. On such small parts that usually means stripped heads or broken parts. Unless they give extremely good cause to use red, always use blue for this category of project/fasteners. Again, unless they give very good cause (not simply, "we recommend", or, "suggest") to not use blue, blue should hold plenty well and still allow for relatively easy disassembly in the future.

Soooo... You get as much, if not more parts in this than in a LEGO Set of a similar pricepoint, you have more build-time and when finished, you fiorstly have the huge amount of satisfaction when it finally works AND it can practically self replicate - count me in!

Every time I see the V0 I am really tempted. It is big enough for 90% of the prints I do, so one day the big printer will be moved to the garage and a V0 will take it's place on my desk.

Oh, one more thing. I have a piece of advice for you: try to make your own umbilical cable using more flexible silicone wires. The original cable is very stiff and breaks easily. After a few months my extruder started behaving weird, it turned out that one of the wires in the umbilical cable broke inside and was losing contact when the toolhead was in certain position of the build plate. After I replaced the cable everything went back to normal. :)

Voron 0.2 was my first printer and I love it. I think it's very underrated. People just want to go bigger, but this little beast is blazing fast and in the end is big enough for most cases.
