  I know that Dylan will never see this, but it&apos;s so important to me that he knows that Hermione makes them have a physical list for Dumbledore&apos;s Army because in the books the list is spelled so that if someone were to snitch, they would have snitch spelled out on their face in pimples or something and could be easily identified as having been the snitch. Also, in the books, Marietta Edgecomb snitches, not Cho Chang.

  You’re right though, they skimp on a lot of the lore in the movies. Like in the fourth book, when Impostor Moody teaches them the curses, he explains that you need to back the killing curse with a lot of malice and intent. It’s basically the first-degree murder of spells, and he tells the entire class that they could probably all cast it at him simultaneously and he would just get a nosebleed. It’s implied that even a really skilled wizard might not be able to cast it properly if they lack true murderous intent. If you pay careful attention, I think they only ever show dark wizards using it. You’d think aurors would be authorized to use it the same way muggle law enforcement can use deadly force if needed, but since they don’t, it’s possible that most of them actually can’t.<br><br>Also, one reason Molly is able to defeat Bellatrix is that after Harry sacrifices himself, everyone on his side is shielded by love magic. It’s hinted at that Molly is secretly a really powerful witch and that all of the crazy spells she’s used to rig up the Weasley home are pretty complex. But in addition to that, most of Bellatrix’s spells are probably missing their mark because Molly is shielded. I might be making this up, but I think in the book they expressly noted that nobody else on the Hogwarts side dies after Harry’s sacrifice.
