  Precisely why references are soooo important folks!!!<br>It&apos;s not cheating to use them, it&apos;s nearly impossible to do everything by winging it and having it look good. ESPECIALLY if it&apos;s something you&apos;re new at!

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUcSPfh7Ph4&amp;t=374">6:14</a> As someone who&apos;s trying to improve into drawing furries, what helped me the most was getting 3 kinds of references: <br>1.Real photos of the animal i want to draw (head, body proportions, fur, paws or hooves) I also use this step to focus on the shape of the head of the animal to draw them better.<br>2. Cartoon drawings of that animal (let it be a realistic drawing simplified or a disney character like Judy) <br>3. Other furry drawings to see how people interpreted different features of that animal. This goes from independent furry artists to beastars.<br><br>I know i&apos;m talking about illustrations, but this is also helpful to 3d modeling like we just saw.
