  Enoch Powell was the great prophet who spoke out against the policy that fundamentally transformed the British people. We all live with the consequences of failing to heed his warning.

  It's not complicated. Enoch was many years ahead of his time. And he was right about everything.

  A towering intellect. His counterpart on the Labour benches, was Michael Foot. Was it a &nbsp;coincidence that, notwithstanding their political differences, they were friends.<br>There is no one remotely comparable to those great &nbsp;figures amongst todays wholly unremarkable &nbsp;politicians.

  Douglas Murray praised Enoch recently. It&apos;s tragic that for all his faults, Enoch still underestimated the danger.

  I found a copy of Heffer&apos;s book, having been looking for some years, eventually in Wimpole Hall, Cambs, in what could barely even be considered a bookshop, just a pile of maybe 50 second hand volumes stacked up in a corner of a back room.

  Enoch, used facts and government statistics and was hounded by polite society. &nbsp;Not with contrary facts but with rage, dismissal and disgust. &nbsp;Nobody likes Cassandra. &nbsp;Nobody says sorry to Cassandra when proven right.
