  The most surreal experience as I’ve gotten to and into my 20s is realizing that adults not only are highly unintelligent, where as I child I thought they were so smart, but they are so unintelligent they have actively been causing the collapse of the US from the inside out, just to appease shareholders.

  I’m on city council (age 37) and I rang up one of my favorite fellow council members (early 70s) to pitch the idea of “legalizing starter homes.” It was a few code changes, the biggest one being to allow units smaller than 1000 sq. ft. <br><br>“Why would anyone want to live in less than 1000 sq feet?? I haven’t lived somewhere that small since my 20s.”<br><br>Exactly, I reply. We need somewhere that working 20 and 30-somethings can afford. <br><br>“I don’t think we need people moving here who can’t afford our current housing stock.”<br><br>They’ve already crossed the bridge. They don’t care if it burns.

  Worst thing about unemployment is that you can easily slip into depression. And getting out of that hole is way more difficult than people realize. Having young people work decent jobs is necessary to keep society from imploding. Yeah, it&apos;s that important...
