I live in basin and range country on the Continental Divide in NM. I began with astrology, at about 12 years, also Egyptian deities. the 1960’s opened many doors, as Aldous Huxley wrote. I opened them at on my Saturn return I moved from E coast to NM.Here I got the wide sky, the parade of seasons, stars, planets. I began going to the Albq pagan events, found my pwn magic and eventually someone found me. Long story short, I still wear the silver radiant-pentagram with its ruby hanging from the center, the silver star I made from wax and had cast via lost wax technique in my own house back in 87. Since then I have visited many sacred sites: great pyramid, Glastonbury, Orkney, Chaco, Kaarnak. I have my own place now, and as a Solitary I work with cosmic energies and specific times. I never work for myself and my path is as a dedicated Solitary.

As a New Mexican Pagan, good on you to try and bridge the gap here. I've studied religion my whole life and I teach living world religions at the high school level, and I find faith and dedication beautiful and wisdom found in all religions.

Loved this. Thank you for helping clarify we are not devil worshipers nor evil people. We believe in peace, love, and nature.

Having spiritual powers has nothing to do with being a Catholic judeo-Christian or with satan. One can have abilities that have been passed on by elders, learned and listened--sometimes referred to as curanderas (healers) and that knowledge frightens those who do not understand and readily accepted by those who understand those abilities and powers--Proud to say I am a bruja-curandera and so are all the women in my village. Que viva nuestra tierra en paz y amor.
