  I had a 2010 Chevy that rusted to death in 10 years. Replaced it with 2017 RAM Big Horn and Tow A 22" camper with a 5.7L engine. No E-Tech. At 65K replaced differential oil in same for transfer case. And replaced trans fluid at 97K. I want this thing around for a long time.

  I drive a 2016 Ram 1500, 5.7 Hemi with MDS. I bought used with 12,000 miles. I always, always deactivate MDS, have 350,000 miles with no engine issues.

  I had a 22 Ram, a 24 Canyon (with the 2.7) and now a 26 Silverado with the 2.7 & 8 speed. You are 100% right on ride quality...Ram was great. That said, my brothers Ram was in the shop for 4 months back in 24, no parts...bad parts & then endless software drama...went back to GM, under duress. 2.7 is fun to drive...but it takes 2 years to get use to the sound it makes...

  2 years ago, I took a look at what was on the market. And said hell no! I found a 1984 F150 XLT with a 300ci 6 cylinder 5 speed manual transmission and rebuilt it. I don't even call what's being made now trucks. Over glorified SUVs with the back cut off! Need a new battery for one of those new ones. You can't just change it yourself. You have to have the system reprogrammed. Cost with the battery $900. Me. A trip to the store. 135 bucks, and it's good to go.

  I've got a 2022 Gen 4 Ram (so no e-Torque) 1500 Warlock with the Pentastar V6. Bullet-proof engine and 305 HP. I couldn't be happier and plan to keep her for a long time.

  THAT IS OUTRAGEOUS !  NOT THE INSURANCE RATE FOR TRUCKS LIKE THAT, BUT THE TRUCKS THEMSELVES  !

  I would stick with the ram classic hemi, avoid etorque, and avoid the tick problem with frequent oil changes and avoid idling.

  I have 2023 RAM 1500 Laramie 5.7 E-Torque.  103,000 miles living outside of Mobile, AL.  So far all is good.  Love the truck.
