That valve set up should pump out 50w with perhaps some chassis mods.
2 prong!!?? Beware the bare feet on concrete floor! We all learned that one back in the day 😳😳😳⚡⚡⚡
Outstanding presentation thanks!

I’ve never had better tone than plugging into something like this. They take effects really well.

We used to mod amps to do this in the mid 90s at Black Market Music in LA. Lots of these are out there cheap - and with some knowledge and tweaking you can get past the unusual tones that they typically put out. A good basic platform for a lot of ideas.

I have one of those, I bought it right by where John Lee Hooker was playing in Blues Brothers movie. 30 years ago. Sounded great but blew it out after a few days and have not yet had it repaired. (projector still working.)

Shhh. These sort of unconventional guitar amps are a hidden secret to getting unique tones. Don’t tell a lot of people because they will sky rocket prices.

That old Epi sounded great through it. I'd totally track with a rig like that- a great secret weapon for the studio!

In the '80s I built a couple of combo amp cases and fitted the amps from old radios in them, a few friends asked me to build one for them.
Getting ahold of the radio amps was easy, there was an old electronics repair shop in my town that had a storage room full of them, I just bought the amp, I wasn't interested in the case or the radio, they were between £5 and £10 each, I bought a few of the speakers also, I don't remember what I paid for those.
I never kept mine, I sold them on in the '90s, this is one of the many regrets of my life, they were very good amps and had a great overdrive sound to them.
